Guillermo del Toro’s Hulk TV show is still on

Joss Whedon’s Avengers Assemble hasn’t scuppered Guillermo del Toro’s pilot for The Incredible Hulk.

Speaking to MTV, director/producer and all-round Renaissance man Guillermo del Toro revealed that his long mooted Incredible Hulk TV show was still in development at ABC, and not completely sidelined by the success of Marvel’s Avengers Assemble.

“I have had a couple of minutes with Marvel since Avengers,” revealed del Toro, “and they have the screenplay. We’re waiting for a particular writer to do a rewrite on the pilot. That’s where we are right now. But we’re still on.”

Talking about the success of Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, the creator added, “I think Avengers is beautiful because you give a movie like that – that size, that scope – to a guy that has the tone and the pulse of those things dead on, and that’s beauty or curse, you know?”

With Mark Ruffalo signed up for six movie appearances, it’s tempting to wonder if the big screen Bruce Banner will have any influence on his small screen counterpart – we guess that’s one of the things del Toro and Marvel will have to iron out…
