An arthouse animated anthology of Edgar Allan Poe stories has been announced, and it’s putting together a fascinating cast.
Variety reports that writer/director/genius Guillermo del Toro has been cast alongside Christopher Lee, Julian Sands and Roger Corman in Extraordinary Tales, directed by Raul Garcia, that “comprises five segments retelling a Poe story. Each part boast a different animation style that reflects Poe’s universe and is inspired by various artists.”
The segment based on The Masque Of The Red Death is inspired by the art of Egon Schiele, while The Pit And The Pendulum (in which del Toro will star) “mimics mid-19th century photography.”
This sounds amazing and we can’t wait to see it.
