With just over a month to go until its UK release, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 has given fans a cheeky little tease of what’s to come with some new images from the film, and we’re all over them.

The images come courtesy of Empire and feature close-ups of your favourite characters, plus some new ones, with Kurt Russell’s Ego the Living Planet (aka Star-Lord’s dad) catching our eyes the most.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favourite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

The film stars Guardians of the Galaxy actors Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, David Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon, the voice of Vin Diesel as Groot, Karen Gillan as Nebula and Michael Rooker as Yondu.

New cast members include Kurt Russell as Ego, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha and Sylvester Stallone in a so far unconfirmed role. James Gunn has returned to writer and direct the film, while Kevin Feige is producing.
