He may be best known for the unrestrained likes of Super and Slither, but James Gunn, director of Marvel’s Phase 2 space opera Guardians Of The Galaxy has turned to the most credible source possible to get a solid scientific grounding for this superhero movie about a gun-toting racoon and his talking tree friend.
“Yesterday I spent a few hours with one of NASA’s representatives from Jet Propulsion Laboratories,” said Gunn on Facebook, “part of a group of scientists who consult [with] the movie industry (for free) to help bring a greater understanding of science to films.
“It was an utterly fascinating few hours with one of the most intelligent and knowledgeable guys I’ve ever met… [W]e made our way through a ton of information on the possibilities of space travel, alien life, etc…”
