According to ComicBookMovie.com‘s unnamed source – and you know how we feel about those – Marvel are planning an animated series based on Guardians Of The Galaxy, the fan-favourite cosmic heroes who are making the jump to the big screen later in 2014 courtesy of Super/Slither director James Gunn.
The site writes that “Word is that Marvel were undecided on whether to go with GOTG or yet another Spider-Man cartoon, and although the latter may also happen, it seems they’ve settled on the Guardians for now.”
The series is expected to air on Disney XD, the current home for Marvel animation.
The Guardians Of The Galaxy previously appeared in Ultimate Spider-Man Season 2 Episode 18, written by Marvel’s Brian Michael Bendis, and this isn’t the first time that the possibility of an animated series has been raised.
