bioshock-limited-edition-cover.jpgUniversal Pictures has snapped up Gore Verbinski, director of the Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogy and the US remake of The Ring, to helm a big-screen adaptation of the hit videogame Bioshock.

“I think the whole utopia-gone-wrong story that is cleverly unveiled to players is just brimming with cinematic potential,” the Pirates Of The Caribbean and The Ring director says of the game. “Of all the games I’ve played, this is one that I felt has a really strong narrative.”

The Aviator scribe John Logan is reportedly in negotiations to pen the screenplay and Verbinski is keen to get moving on the project once his script is approved.
