Godzilla: King Of The Monsters casts Thomas Middleditch

Silicon Valley star joins Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla sequel

Adam Wingard may have been announced as the director of 2020’s Godzilla Vs Kong, but Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla: King Of The Monsters is still casting and another name has been added to the already impressive roster.

Variety reports that Silicon Valley star Thomas Middleditch has joined Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Aisha Hinds, O’Shea Jackson Jr, Randall P Havens, Anthony Ramos and Charles Dance in the sequel to Gareth Edwards’ monster reboot, which is written by Dougherty and Zach Shields.

Interestingly (or at least, we think it is), this will be Middleditch’s second appearance in the Monsterverse after a voice cameo in Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ Kong: Skull Island, which stomped its way to $565 million worldwide.

Of course, there is absolutely no information on who the actor will be playing, as is par for the course with these films, but we’re excited that he’s on board. He’s absolutely incredible as Richard Hendricks in Silicon Valley, and he also had a great scene-stealing role in the criminally underrated horror comedy The Final Girls.

Godzilla: King Of The Monsters will be released in cinemas on 22 March 2019. For all the latest movie news, pick up the new issue of SciFiNow.
