As if there wasn’t enough Ghostbusters in our lives already, what with Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters sequel on the way, it appears even more feel-good bustin’ will be occurring, with Tracking Board reporting that Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock’s Montecito Films is producing an animated movie.
While it’s thought to involve the original characters, there’s no word yet on whether Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver will be reprising the roles. Still, it seems an interesting move. With it having been some years since the original cast last appeared, the aim seems to be to rejuvenate interest in the franchise.
In addition to producers Reitman and Pollock, Ali Bell and Kristine Belson of Sony Pictures Animation will be overseeing the project. Fingers crossed for something of the ilk of The Real Ghostbusters.
Ghostbusters will be released in cinemas on 15 July 2016. For more news about the biggest movies, pick up the latest issue of SciFiNow.
