Comic book veteran Frank Miller may be set to direct the upcoming Buck Rogers film, according to insider sources.
Coming through IGN, the unconfirmed news places Miller at the helm of the project, which has long been in gestation, while Flint Dille will be writing the screenplay and serving as a producer. The film will apparently have a modest budget of $40 million, with the cheap effects that characterised the Eighties television series being something of a running gag throughout.
In the original comic, Buck Rogers was a pilot who slips into a coma after inhaling special gas, and wakes up in the 25th Century. Iconic in its own right, the character has inspired television serials, radio dramas and even a satirical cartoon named Duck Dodgers In The 24th And A Half Century.
