Foundation S3 trailer, synopsis, release date and more

Check out the first full trailer for Foundation Season Three…

The Mule is here! We absolutely love Apple TV+’s epic sci-fi series Foundation (based on the novels by Isaac Asimov) here at SciFiNow and we’ve had to wait two whole years to go back to the expansive universe after Season Two’s thrilling finale back in 2023.

Well, there isn’t too much longer to wait, Foundationists, as the new season is out next month and the first full trailer is here.

Watch it now…

Set 152 years after the events of season two, The Foundation has become increasingly established far beyond its humble beginnings while the Cleonic Dynasty’s Empire has dwindled. As both of these galactic powers forge an uneasy alliance, a threat to the entire galaxy appears in the fearsome form of a warlord known as ‘The Mule’ whose sights are set on ruling the universe by use of physical and military force, as well as mind control. It’s anyone’s guess  who will win, who will lose, who will live and who will die as Hari Seldon, Gaal Dornick, the Cleons and Demerzel play a potentially deadly game of intergalactic chess.

Based on Isaac Asimov’s revered science fiction series, Foundation is developed by David S. Goyer and stars Jared Harris (Chernobyl), Lee Pace (The Hobbit), Lou Llobell (Voyagers), Laura Birn (The Crow), Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann (Sense8) and Rowena King (Emergence), all returning to their roles.

Season Three also introduces new characters and stars, including Cherry Jones, Brandon P. Bell, Synnøve Karlsen, Cody Fern, Tómas Lemarquis, Alexander Siddig, Troy Kotsur and Pilou Asbæk as ‘The Mule’.

Get more insight into the series by reading our exclusive interviews with showrunner David Goyer, and stars Lee Pace, Jared Harris and Laura Birn who spoke to us back in 2023 about Season Two of Foundation.

The 10-episode season three of Foundation will debut globally with one episode on Friday July 11 on Apple TV+, followed by new episodes weekly, every Friday through September 12.
