Foundation returns this July as Apple TV+ teases rise of The Mule

Apple TV+ unveils first look at Season Three of the epic sci-fi saga based on Isaac Asimov’s iconic novels

Apple TV+ has dropped the first teaser for Foundation Season Three, confirming that the sprawling space opera will return to screens on Friday 11 July, with new episodes landing weekly until 12 September.

Check out the teaser…

Based on Isaac Asimov’s revered science fiction series, Foundation is developed by David S. Goyer and stars Jared Harris (Chernobyl), Lee Pace (The Hobbit), and Lou Llobell (Voyagers). The third chapter of the epic saga picks up 152 years after the events of Season Two, with the Foundation now firmly established and the Cleonic Dynasty’s grip on the galaxy beginning to weaken.

But while uneasy alliances are formed across star systems, a new threat looms in the form of The Mule—a mysterious and powerful warlord with the ability to control minds, setting the stage for a new struggle for the future of the galaxy.

The 10-episode season promises more high-stakes politics, cosmic conflicts, and philosophical ponderings as Hari Seldon’s grand plan collides with forces he couldn’t predict.

Returning alongside Harris, Pace and Llobell are Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann and Rowena King. They’ll be joined by an impressive slate of new faces, including Oscar-winner Troy Kotsur (CODA), Cherry Jones (Succession), Brandon P. Bell, Synnøve Karlsen, Cody Fern, Tómas Lemarquis, Alexander Siddig and Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones).

Both Season 1 and 2 are available to stream now, exclusively on Apple TV+.
