According to TVLine, Broadway star and genre newcomer Carlos Valdes has been cast in The CW’s Arrow spin-off Flash.

Valdes will play Cisco Ramon, a genius engineer at STAR Labs, who in his comic-book incarnation becomes Vibe, able to emit and control powerful vibrational and/or sonic shockwaves.

The theatre background almost certainly means that Ramon takes on the Vibe identity, as dancers are uniquely suited for comic-book action scenes – just look at Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the X-Men movies or Caity Lotz’ Black Canary in Arrow.

Either that, or he’ll be doing a lot of breakdancing, as per his original comic-book incarnation (introduced in 1984’s Justice League Of America Annual #2 by writer and one of SciFiNow’s favourite people Gerry Conway and artist Chuck Patton) and the wickedly funny DC Nation animated short.

Arrow Season 2 Part 2 will air early 2014 on Sky 1 HD. Arrow Season 1 is out now on DVD for £21.02 or on Blu-ray for £27.49 from Amazon.co.uk.
