Illumination Entertainment, a Universal-based developer, will be producing an animated film based on Ricky Gervais’s book series, Flanimals, according to Variety.
Speaking about this project, Gervais jokingly said the following: “It will be great to play a short, fat, sweaty loser for a change,” before concluding that the project will be “a real stretch.”
The film will feature vocal work from the Brit comedian while Simpsons writer Matt Selman is on hand to write the script. Illumination has not yet announced a filming date for this feature.
