Film4 FrightFest 2014 killer guests announced

The guest line-up for this year’s Film4 FrightFest has been announced.

Genre legend Robert Englund will be on hand to celebrate the 30th anniversary of A Nightmare On Elm Street as well as his new film The Last Showing.

Opening night film The Guest will be presented by rising star Maika Monroe, Alan Moore and Mitch Jenkins will be on hand for Show Pieces, their short film trilogy, and John McNaughton, the man behind Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer, will present his return to the genre: The Harvest. Producer and long-time Stanley Kubrick collaborator Jan Harlan will introduce the screening of The Shining.

Fabrice Du Welz will be there with his festival favourite Alleluia, Nacho Vigalondo will promote the three films he has at FrightFest: Open Windows, Extraterrestrial and V/H/S: Viral, Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer will present Hollywood chiller Starry Eyes, The Samurai will be introduced by director Till Kleinert, Adrian Garcia Bogliano will discuss his werewolf retirement home horror Late Phases, and Adam Green will make his FrightFest return with Digging Up The Marrow. Jorg Buttgereit, the director of the notorious cult classic Nekromantik, will also be on hand to promote the screening of his film.

Other directors attending include Alejandro Hidalgo (The House At The End Of Time), Milan Todorovic (Nymph), Luke Hymans (XMoor), Jay Weisman (Shockwave Darkside 3D), Ivan Kavanagh (The Canal) Phil Hawkins (The Last Showing) Ben Wagner (Dead Within), David Campbell (Lemon Tree Passage), Ate De Jong (Deadly Virtues), David Gregory (Lost Souls), John Shackleton (The Sleeping Room), Jeremy Wooding (Blood Moon), Jessica Cameron (Truth Or Dare), Alexandre O Philippe  (Doc Of The Dead), Ollie Frampton (The Forgotten), Ed Boase (The Mirror),  Adam Spinks (The Expedition), Simeon Haligan (White Settlers), Matthew A. Brown (Julia) and Federico Zampaglone (Remember).

Confirmed acting talent includes The Samurai‘s Pit Bukowski and Michel Diercks, The Canal‘s Rupert Evans and Steve Oram, The Last Showing‘s Emily Berrington, Finn Jones and Malachi Kirby, XMoor‘s Nick Blood and Sofie Harkness, Deadly Virtues‘ Edward Akrout, Blood Moon‘s Shaun Dooley, The Sleeping Room‘s Leila Mimmock & Joseph Beatty, Julia‘s Ashley C. Williams, The Mirror‘s Joshua Dickinson and Nate Fallows and Selkie‘s Emily Booth.
