JK Rowling’s Wizarding World prequel Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them has already been a long time in the making, but the film is finally getting a move on with its casting.
Eddie Redmayne (The Theory Of Everything), who was already confirmed to be playing the protagonist magizoologist Newt Scamander, now has a leading lady. Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice) will be playing a witch called Tina, or Porpentina, who operates in the US.
According to Warner Bros., Porpentina will meet Newt when he stops in New York City while travelling the world to find and document magical creatures.
David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Potter films, will be returning to helm Fantastic Beast, which has an original screenplay written by JK Rowling.
