While treading the promo circuit for his return to horror Drag Me To Hell, Sam Raimi has delighted Evil Dead fans with the news that he is not just keen to do another Dead movie, but that he is looking to begin working on one within the next couple of weeks. “I’d love to make another Evil Dead picture,” Raimi says, “actually that’s in the wheelhouse; I’d like to work on it with my brother Ivan when he comes up next week.”
He also went on to lavish praise on his long-time collaborator and Dead alumni Bruce Campbell too. “I love working with Bruce,” he said of the chainsaw-wielding Ash. “He’s super willing to do anything – he’s got this quality where he will physically do anything to get the shot done right so I would love to work with Bruce again to test those limits.”
It may have been 16 years since the last Dead movie, Evil Dead 3: Army Of Darkness, was released, and Raimi has since ascended to the top of the Hollywood A-list with his work on Spider-Man, but there is no stopping this man’s love for the Book of the Dead.
