Following their collaboration on Nelson Mandela biopic Invictus, Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon are once again joining forces on a new project. This time around Damon will be starring in The Hereafter, a supernatural thriller Eastwood himself is set to be directing.
As reported by Variety, the film is being put up by Warner Bros., but the studio is keeping plot info infuriatingly under wraps. In fact, bar a slight Sixth Sense allusion, we are relatively in the dark about this one. But with said reference in mind, it’s not too hard to envisage this to be a traditionally told tale, done in that classic style Eastwood has become such a pro at over the years.
Screenwriter Peter Morgan – of Frost/Nixon and rumoured Bond 23 fame – has written a version of The Hereafter’s screenplay, and Eastwood is producing the film alongside Kathleen Kennedy and regular producing partner Robert Lorenz. The project was once a DreamWorks property so in that respect exec producing duties lie with Hollywood heavyweights Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Tim Moore.
SciFiNow will reveal more info on this intriguing project in due course.
