Duane Swierczynski to take over a Batman title

Hotly tipped novelist Duane Swierczynski to take on the Dark Knight

One of the relaunched Batman titles is going to be written by Duane Swierczynski, a piece of creative casting that ranks with Brian Azzarello first being handed the title in terms of excitement.

A prolific author, Swierczynski’s comic work for Marvel – The Punisher: Six Hours To Kill, Deadpool: Wade Wilson’s War, and Immortal Iron Fist: The Death Queen of California to pick three – reeked of real bourbon-sloshing, tense thriller grittiness, no surprise given his non-fiction output includes This Here’s A Stick-Up: The Big Bad Book Of American Bank Robbery and The Encyclopedia Of The FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List, 1950 To Present.

Batman is in extremely safe hands.

The cover art to the left might not have anything to do with him, but it’s a forthcoming Bat-book and it’s gorgeous so that’s reason enough.
