Actor and comedian Ben Miller has been added to cast of Doctor Who Series 8 alongside new star Peter Capaldi.
According to Digital Spy, Miller – who starred in 30 episodes of ITV’s Doctor Who rival Primeval – is set to debut in a Mark Gatiss-scripted episode as a villain.
“As a committed Whovian, I cannot believe my luck in joining the Twelfth Doctor for one of his inaugural adventures,” said Miller.
“My only worry is that they’ll make me leave the set when I’m not filming.”
“Mark Gatiss has written us a storming villain for his new episode,” said lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat.
“With Capaldi in the TARDIS, we knew we needed somebody special to send everybody behind the sofa. And quite frankly, it’s about time Ben Miller was in Doctor Who!”
