Doctor Who Series 13 set to keep Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor

Jodie Whittaker is staying with Doctor Who for Series 13

After a fantastic first season, Jodie Whittaker returned to TV screens this year as the Doctor in Season 12 of Doctor Who. If you’re a fan of her take on the Time Lord, here’s a fun update: she’ll be continuing the role into Series 13 too.

Whittaker revealed the news in an interview with EW. She said: “Yes, I’m doing another season. That might be a massive exclusive that I’m not supposed to say, but it’s unhelpful for me to say [I don’t know] because it would be a massive lie! I absolutely adore it. At some point, these shoes are going to be handed on, but it’s not yet. I’m clinging on tight!”

The actor joined the show for Series 11 after Peter Capaldi’s exit. Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill currently star as her companions.

Whittaker’s entrance coincided with Chris Chibnall’s, who took over as head writer and executive producer on the show. He succeeded Steve Moffat, who served as showrunner from Season 5.
