The Daleks are set to return in Doctor Who Series 8, as the BBC confirms Into The Dalek as the title of episode 2.

The synopsis has also been released, and hints that dark times ahead as the Doctor is forced, yet again, to crawl into his own psych and decide if he really is just a mad man with a box:

A Dalek fleet surrounds a lone rebel ship, and only the Doctor can help them now… With the Doctor facing his greatest enemy, he needs Clara by his side.

Confronted with a decision that could change the Daleks forever he is forced to examine his conscience. Will he find the answer to the question, am I a good man?

Michael Smiley (Luther, Utopia) guest stars and The Waters of Mars’s Phil Ford takes a writing credit.

After the feature-length first episode Deep Breath on 23 August, Into The Dalek will return to the regular Who length of roughly 45 minutes, and air on 30 August.

Doctor Who Series 8 begins 23 August 2014 on BBC One and BBC America. You can buy Doctor Who: The Day Of The Doctor on DVD for £9.99 at Amazon.co.uk.
