Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson is officially set to return for the Marvel sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
However, the film is still on the lookout for a writer. The first Doctor Strange was penned by Derrickson, Jon Spaihts and C Robert Cargill, but it looks as though Marvel is wanting to mix it up a bit for the sequel.
Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) was last seen in Avengers: Infinity War, de-materialising following Thanos’ infamous Snap. With Avengers: Endgame still to happen, we naturally have no idea how the second Doctor Strange film will play into things.
As well as Doctor Strange, Derrickson is known for his work on horror films like The Exorcism Of Emily Rose and Sinister.
