British Douglas Adams fans who were perhaps worrying about the quality of BBC America’s Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency needn’t worry any longer: the series clearly isn’t bad, as it’s already been given a Season 2.
Dirk Gently, which stars Samuel Barnett as the titular character and Elijah Wood as a Gently’s not-in-the-books sidekick/assistant Todd, is yet to air in the UK, but it has been gathering some good reviews over the pond.
The Max Landis-developed series is based on Adams’ two-and-a-half novels – Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, The Long Dark Tea-Time Of The Soul and half of The Salmon Of Doubt – and sees Dirk and Todd finding themselves at the centre of a mysterious conspiracy while attempting to solve problems by investigating a number of apparently interconnected clues.
Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency hits Netflix UK on 11 December. Get all the latest science fiction news with every issue of SciFiNow.
