As time progresses, Marvel’s The Defenders series is looking like more of a family affair. Obviously, we know that leads Daredevil/Matt Murcock (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones), that Eka Darville and Elden Henson will reprising their roles as Malcolm Ducasse and Foggy Nelson respectively, and that Sigourney Weaver will play the as-yet unnamed centrail villain, but now we have even more names to add to the list.
From Daredevil, Scott Glenn will return in the role of Stick, Murdock’s tough love-embracing mentor. Despite having a relationship that can at best be described as tulmultuous, the two came to an uneasy peace of sorts at the end of Season 2, so we’re sure he won’t be an antagonist here. Also back is Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, who is also featuring in the Punisher series.
From Jessica Jones, Carrie-Anne Moss is back as Jeri Hoharth, as is Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker. Both have also appeared briefly in other shows (Moss in Daredevil, Taylor in Luke Cage), and thus the Marvel Netflix-verse continues to revolve.
Luke Cage is also making its contribution in the form of Simone Missick, who is back as police officer Misty Knight, and Rosario Dawson is completing her perfect attendance record as Claire Temple.
Iron Fist hasn’t even started yet, but it’s making a contribution too in the form of Jessica Henwick, reprising her role as formidable martial artist Colleen Wing. We’re unsure how they’ll all come together (or whether any will join the core four on the team, a la Hawkeye and Black Widow in Avengers Assemble), but it looks like it’s going to be one hell of a brawl.
The Defenders will air on Netflix in 2017. For all the latest TV news, pick up the new issue of SciFiNow.
