According to Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds, who has been long geared up to reprise his role of Deadpool from 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine (albeit better), the standalone movie isn’t going anywhere soon.
“It’s up to the studio,” Reynolds told HeyUGuys. “The studio I think is reluctant to pull the trigger on such a hard Rated-R script. Then the guys who wrote it and the producers won’t make it unless it’s that hard and, you know, raunchy.”
