George A Romero’s classic 1985 zombie movie Day Of The Dead is getting the remkae treatment from the producers of Texas Chainsaw 3D.
Producers Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman told The LA Times that “We want to keep it as close to the Romero version as possible to make sure that his fans are happy. These are not going to be zombies climbing walls and doing back flips like in World War Z.”
Although reviews for Texas Chainsaw 3D were generally unkind, the film did extremely well at the box office. Strangely, Day Of The Dead was remade in 2008 starring Mena Suvari, Nick Cannon and Ving Rhames, with such poor results that everyone seems to have forgotten it.
