The first teaser has arrived for Netflix’s German mystery series Dark, which starts as a missing person’s case before becoming something decidedly more sinister.
So, that trailer isn’t giving a whole lot away, and neither is the plot synopsis: “A missing child sets four families on a frantic hunt for answers. Their search for a culprit unearths a small town’s sins and secrets.”
Right, then.
It looks good, though. There have been immediate comparisons to Stranger Things, of course, but there’s definitely a feel of The Returned to this as well, with its small town secrets. It comes from Swiss director Baran bo Odar, who’s the man behind upcoming Jamie Foxx thriller Sleepless, as well as 2014’s German hacker movie Who Am I.
