b000fa57wg01_sclzzzzzzz_.jpgHe’s made some of the best, and most beloved, horror movies of all time (gremlins and The Howling to name but two) however in recent years he’s dropped off the radar, keeping himself busy with TV work, most notably a couple of episodes in the Masters Of Horror series of which his ‘Homecoming’ was a highlight. Joe Dante, however, is set to make up for lost time with the news that he has not one, but two new horror movies in the works.

First up is Bat Out Of Hell, which tells the story of a bunch of highjackers who find something truly evil in the hold of the cargo plane they have taken over. Also on the slate is The Hole about a family on the run who wind up in a house that, again, has something rather sinister lurking in wait for the protagonists, this time in the pit in the basement of the house rather than the cargo hold.
