Curry will be taking on the role of Dodo, while Bates will star as The Queen Of Hearts for the production, which is being developed as a four-hour miniseries event by The Sci-Fi Channel. Other names attached to Alice include Battlestar Galactica’s Alessandro Juliani as 9 Of Clubs, Star Trek’s Colm Meaney as The King Of Hearts, Thunderbirds’ Philip Winchester as Jack Of Hearts and Caterina Scorsone as the titular Alice.

The show’s plot is an updated version of Carroll’s tales, which sees Alice, a driven twenty-something young woman, falling through a looking glass. There she encounters a world built from playing cards and warped towers, rules over by a Queen who is less than pleased by the interloper’s arrival.

The project is aiming for a December debut, and Nick Willing serves as a writer and director. Willing previously helmed the relatively successful Tin Man, a loose adaptation of L Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz.
