Could Alan Ball be leaving True Blood?

Showrunner says he doesn’t know if he can continue after Season Five

As Season Four of the sexed-up vampire drama premiers in the US this weekend, creator/writer/producer Alan Ball reveals that not only is he currently negotiating for a Season Five, but he doesn’t know if he’ll stick with the show after that.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Ball commented, “Right now I’m in the middle of negotiating for a fifth season. I don’t know if I have any left in me after that. We’ll see.”

Ball added that he found Season Four of True Blood “really tough,” and while he’s happy with it, he’s “ready to take a big vacation right now. I’ll play it by ear and see how it happens.”
