Christopher Nolan to direct new sci-fi film Interstellar?

Christopher Nolan meets with Paramount and Warners to discuss directing new sci-fi project

The Dark Knight and Inception director Christopher Nolan on set

Christopher Nolan is in negotiations with Paramount and Warner Bros to direct his next film: Interstellar.

The script, written by his brother and long-time collaborator Jonathan Nolan (The Prestige, The Dark Knight Rises), is a science fiction epic that “involves time travel and alternate dimensions, and sees a group of explorers travel through a wormhole” according The Hollywood Reporter.

Apparently Steven Spielberg was previously attached to direct the project and it’s as yet unclear if he’ll stay on as a producer if Nolan and the studios can agree to a deal. Nolan’s been with Warner Bros since Batman Begins and, given how much cash he’s made the studio since then, it’s safe to assume they’ll make it worth his while.

If Nolan signs up to direct Interstellar it will be his first film since completing The Dark Knight trilogy, and his first return to sci-fi since Inception, which you can buy on Blu-ray for £6.99 on Amazon.co.uk
