With the suitably eery new poster for the reboot of Child’s Play comes news of a release date: the film will officially be hitting cinemas on 21 June 2019.
It looks like the doll is going digital for the film, as hinted by the updated packaging in the poster which features Wi-Fi signals and instructions to connect Buddi to your tablet, computer and mobile device.
The reboot is coming from MGM and Orion Pictures, and is set to be directed by Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) from a screenplay by Tyler Burton Smith.
David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith are producing under their KatzSmith production banner, with Aaron Schmidt and Chris Ferguson serving as executive producers.
Child’s Play stars Gabriel Bateman as Andy Bateman, Aubrey Plaza as Andy’s mother Karen, Brian Tyree Henry as Mike, and Beatrice Kitsos and Ty Consiglio as Andy’s friends Falyn and Pugg.
