There is a rumour doing the rounds, sparked by a report in the Australian newspaper The Herald Sun, that Buffy The Vampire Slayer could be in line for a return to the big screen.
With Twilight scoring big bucks at the box office, there is a market for teenage vampire romances and this is sure to have not gone unnoticed by the industry big wigs.
Having said this, though, the notion of a Buffy movie strikes us as a tad unlikely. The series finished five years ago and there has been no mention since of Joss Whedon, or Sarah Michelle Gellar for that matter, returning to it. If the rumour is to be believed, however, Whedon already has a script in place and is ready to go if a studio would commit. Unlikely for sure, but that can’t help us wondering, if only for a minute, what if…?
