The project, which is slated to see Coscarelli return to the helm, seems to have found a new lease of life, though, and a new star to take over the role in the shape of Hellboy’s Ron Perlman.

Bubbba Ho-Tep told the story of an ageing Elvis Presley in a retirement home who faces off against an evil mummy who starts knocking off the home’s oldies. The prequel, which is rumoured to co-star Paul Giamatti, finds Elvis shooting a film in Louisiana when he has another spot of bad luck when he runs into a coven of she-vampires. Of course.
