British comics editor Martin Skidmore dies

Comic-book stalwart loses a long battle with cancer.

Martin Skidmore, best know as the editor of Eighties comic anthology/company Trident and the comic-book fanzine FA (previously Fantasy Advertiser), who published early work from current comic-book heavyweights like Grant Morrison, Mark Millar and Neil Gaiman, died of cancer Wednesday evening, aged 52.

Writer Dan Abnett summed it up neatly on Twitter with, “Comics couldn’t have had a more articulate or enthusiastic advocate.”

Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
