Brides Of Dracula TV series coming from Arrow creator

Greg Berlanti is working on an updated Brides Of Dracula drama pilot that’s a “sexy reimagining”

The-Brides-of-Dracula-bridesTraditionally, the Brides of Dracula haven’t had a huge amount to do in the movies about the Count. They hang out, seduce Jonathan Harker, get shouted at, and occasionally eat a baby before getting killed by Van Helsing.

Arrow and The Flash creator Greg Berlanti and The Town That Dreaded Sundown remake writer Robert Aguirre-Sacasa are bringing the brides to New York City.

Deadline reports that the duo are working on a TV series pilot for NBC that’s described as “a sexy reimagining of Dracula as a family drama with a trio of strong, diverse female leads, a show about empowered women and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige, legacy — and their non-traditional family.”

So we can safely assume that this has nothing to do with the consistently underrated Terence Fisher Hammer horror The Brides Of Dracula, starring Peter Cushing, but we’ll use it as an excuse to rewatch that anyway.
