In a statement, the satellite channel’s commissioning editor for drama Elaine Pyke said: “The time is ripe for a revival of a show that represents the best traditions of the genre, not to mention one of the best-loved and most successful dramas of all time.” Sky One will be working alongside Blake’s 7 Media, who owns the rights to the show, and who also produced a series of radio dramas starring Colin Salmon last year that were broadcast on BBC 7.
