The first teaser trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner sequel Blade Runner 2049 has finally arrived, and it’s got a bit more going on that we’d been expecting from an “announcement” teaser. As in, actual footage. Yes!
So there’s our first look at Ryan Gosling’s character, not to mention Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard…And they’re in the same line of work…Honestly, we were just really happy to see the big-collared coats and a piano.
“Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.”
Blade Runner 2049 stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, with Dave Bautista and Jared Leto. Hampton Fancher and Michael Green wrote the script, while Ridley Scott and Fancher share story credit.
Blade Runner 2049 is released on 6 October. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
