Black Widow movie takes another backward step

Guardians Of The Galaxy co-writer DID write a Black Widow script, but we might never see it

After the success of Guardians Of The Galaxy, attention has turned to co-writer Nicole Perlman’s mention of having written a spec script for a Black Widow solo movie.

As the only woman who has written a Marvel Studios film (and the only Marvel Studios film to have attracted a more than 40% female audience), the enthusiasm to see her on the project is understandable.

However Perlman was quick to debunk rumours that such a film is in production:

There’s been a lot of fudging over the issue of a female-fronted superhero movie, with Warner Bros yet to fully confirm one for Wonder Woman, Kevin Feige always “exploring” the “possibility” of Black Widow film and now Sony getting in on the action.

It’s time for someone to put their money where their mouth is and make it happen.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is available to own from 18 August 2014, pre-order it now on DVD for £10Blu-ray for £15 or 3D Blu-ray for £17 from Amazon.co.uk.
