Black Water: Abyss to be released in cinemas as they open in July

Black Water: Abyss will be in cinemas from Friday 10 July.

With cinemas across the country set to reopen in July, Altitude has announced the theatrical release of its film Black Water: Abyss from Friday 10 July.

“Altitude are excited to be working with our exhibition partners as they reopen UK and Irish cinemas this Summer with the release of Black Water: Abyss on 10 July,” said an Altitude spokesperson.

“We’re confident that cinemas will observe appropriate government guidance to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for audiences and staff and we look forward to auditoriums welcoming enthusiastic filmgoers to re-engage the big screen experience.”

The film sees adventure-seeking couple Eric and Jennifer convincing their friends Yolanda and Viktor to explore an uncharted cave system, in remote North Australia, with the help of the unpredictable Cash as their guide.

As a tropical storm floods the caves the adventurers are trapped in the dark recesses underground, cut off from the outside world. As the waters rise they soon realise they aren’t alone, and their desperate attempt to escape turns into a frantic man and woman versus crocodile fight for survival.

Directed by Andrew Traucki (Black Water, The Reef), Black Water: Abyss stars Luke Mitchell (Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D), Jessica McNamee (The Meg), Amali Golden (The Invisible Man), Benjamin Hoetjes (10×10), and Anthony J. Sharpe (Robert The Bruce).

Black Water: Abyss will be released only in cinemas on 10 July.
