Big Hero 6 series adds some of the film cast, yippee!

Find out who’s coming back for the Big Hero 6 series on Disney XD

The only thing more exciting than Big Hero 6 getting its own spin-off series is the news that said spin-off series is bringing back some of the film’s voice cast!

The newly returning cast features Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass, Jamie Chung as GoGo and Stan Lee as Fred’s dad. Other Big Hero 6 veterans already onboard with the series include Scott Adsit as everyone’s favourite friendly robot Baymax, Alan Tudyk as techie Alistair Krei, Ryan Potter as Hiro, Genesis Rodriguez as scientist Honey Lemon and David Shaughnessy as butler Heathcliff.

Sadly, a couple of people won’t be coming back to reprise their roles for the series, including Damon Wayans Jr, who voiced Wasabi in the film and TJ Miller, who voiced Fred. It’s understandable though; they’re busy guys. Instead, Wasabi will be played by Khary Payton (The Lion Guard) and Fred by Brooks Wheelan (Saturday Night Live).

Additional series guest cast members include Jenifer Lewis as Professor Granville, Andy Richter as Globby, Diedrick Bader, Andrew Scott as Obake, Susan Sullivan as Fred’s mother, John Ross Bowie as Mel, Haley Tju as Karmi and Sean Giambrone as Richardson Mole.

The series is set to pick up where the film left, with Hiro and Baymax continuing to have crazy tech adventures as the former deals with the challenges involved in being a prodigy at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ film Big Hero 6 was inspired by the Marvel comic of the same name.

Big Hero 6 is set to premiere on Disney XD in 2017. Get all the latest science fiction news with every issue of SciFiNow.
