Ben Affleck to adapt Stephen King’s The Stand

The troubled adaptation gets another director

Following a bunch of rumoured directors, as well as a number of other Stephen King projects being tossed back into development hell, Deadline have broken that Ben Affleck is the latest contender to be taking on Stephen King’s post-apocalyptic novel The Stand.

Over the last few years the actor has proven himself a suitably intense director with The Town and Gone Baby Gone, which both explored Boston’s underclass.

Given King’s poor recent history of getting his shows and movies actually on screen, don’t get too excited.
