BAFTA have announced their nominations for the 2013 film awards and the Special Effects category will see The Dark Knight Rises, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Life Of Pi, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Prometheus fighting it out.
Life Of Pi is the only one to make much of an impact in other categories, with nominations for Best Film, Director, Cinematography, Adapted Screenplay, Original Music, Production Design, Editing and Sound. Otherwise it’s slim pickings for genre films, although The Hobbit got a nod for Best Make-up and Hair.
