Bates Motel has cast a major recurring character for its third season.
TV Line reports that Sons Of Anarchy‘s Ryan Hurst will be joining Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore in AMC’s hit show as “Chick Hogan, a badass ex-con and with an intelligent, dark and menacing quality. He owns a motorbike shop, but gets his money running an illegal firearms business from his property nearby Dylan’s new farm.”
We altered the quoted text slightly to remove all the references to typecasting, but yep, it’s pretty clear that the Bates Motel showrunners were fans of Sons Of Anarchy and made the obvious leap when looking for a gunrunning biker. Hurst played Opie on the biker drama.
The site also suggests that Hurst will “lock horns with Dylan’s uncle father Caleb — played by Hurst’s former Sons colleague Kenny Johnson.”
Bates Motel Season 3 begins in March 2015. You can buy Bates Motel Season 1-2 on Blu-ray for £25.25 at Amazon.co.uk. Keep up with the latest genre TV news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
