The 34-year-old actor, who will play the iconic role of John Connor, has already begun shooting on the fourth instalment, and Victor Kubicek of Halcyon film entertainment is apparently delighted to have him on board. “Christian was our first choice and he’s a big fan of The Terminator, so we’re very lucky. But with Batman he’s already done the whole franchise thing, so we weren’t sure he’d respond.” Bale joins co-stars Anton Yelchin, Common and Sam Worthington in the extended franchise, all of whom are signed on already for the follow-up to Terminator 4.

Christian Bale will appear as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming film, The Dark Knight, which is released on 18 July 2008.
