The Hollywood Reporter is claiming that cult horror Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes is set to be remade. Kent Nichols and Douglas Sarine are writing the script with Nichols also to direct the adaptation.
Speaking on his new project, Nichols claimed that “Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes is the masterwork of a generation. We can only aspire to capture that magic.” Few other details have been released for the adaptation of the 1978 low-budget film, although it is expected to have a considerably bigger budget than the paltry $90,000 the original had.
The original Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes spawned several sequels, a cartoon series and a videogame.
