Ash Vs Evil Dead Season 2 first look gets the party started

The first look at Bruce Campbell in Ash Vs Evil Dead Season 2 has arrived and it’s a little less bloodsoaked than you might expect, and a bit more…beer-soaked.

TV Insider debuted the first look at the show’s new season, showing Campbell’s Ash on vacation in Florida, and teased that this happiness won’t last long.

Executive Producer Craig DiGregorio told the site that “When you have a chain-saw hand, this is how you tap a keg. Unfortunately for Ash, the party is cut short when he must return home to continue the fight against evil.” We’re sure he’s going to love that.

Produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, the TV sequel to the timeless, most excellent Evil Dead movies was a major hit for Starz, a welcome return for the kinda heroic Ash Williams, and it didn’t disappoint like we were so worried it would. It was great seeing Campbell strap on his chainsaw hand again, and the first season was a blast. We’re definitely excited to see what Season Two has in store for our Deadite fighting heroes, including returning stars Dana DeLorenzo (as Kelly), Ray Santiago (as Pablo) and Lucy Lawless (as Ruby).

New additions to the cast for Season Two include Lee Majors as Ash’s dad, Ted Raimi as Ash’s childhood best friend and Michelle Hurd as his high school girlfriend.

The first season saw Campbell reprise his role as “Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.”

Ash Vs Evil Dead is available on Virgin Media. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
