According to Deadline, Sin City‘s Devon Aoki has been forced to pull out of the role of Tatsu Yamashiro, aka the vigilante martial artist and Batman ally Katana, in Arrow Season 3 due to scheduling conflicts.
Katana was due to appear once Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell)’s flashbacks moved from the island to Hong Kong.
In an incredible coup for The CW, they’ve secured The Wolverine‘s Rila Fukushima to replace Aoki.
Fukushima was without doubt the breakout character in 2013’s The Wolverine, playing Ninja bodyguard Yukio, where she demonstrated awesome fighting skills and a good dose of comic timing. She also had brilliant hair.
That goes a long way in SciFiNow’s world.
