Anti-Worlds: Two new French genre movies heading our way in 2022

Two new genre movies, After Blue and Bloody Oranges, will be hitting cinemas next year. Find out what we know about them here…

We have a psychedelic sci-fi and a shocking comedy heading our way next year as Anti-Worlds releasing have signed all rights deals in the UK for two new films – both hailing from France.

Firstly, next year will see Bertrand Mandico’s award-winning psychedelic sci-fi After Blue (Dirty Paradise) landing in cinemas. Mandico’s second full length feature follows 2017’s Wild Boys. “I wanted to craft an ode to film and to actresses, a singular and universal adventure borrowing the framework of westerns, the cruelty of old fairy tales and the lyricism of sci-fi,” says Mandico. It’s a mind-blowing mix of gender fluid sci-fi and psychedelic visuals – a futuristic fantasy set on a feminine world.

The next release heading our way is Bloody Oranges, which has been described as “the perfect movie for a Midnight Screening, … brimming with comedy and shocking content”. The film follows four interleaving stories that veer from a critique on modern day morality, political satire and shocking and vicious horror; forcing the viewer to confront their own morality and mortality.

Anti-Worlds will release both After Blue and Bloody Oranges in UK cinemas next year.
