Patrick Wilson has dropped out of Marvel’s Ant-Man.
Deadline report that Wilson, Matt Gerald and Kevin Weisman have departed the Peyton Reed movie for different reasons.
Wilson has reportedly left due to scheduling conflicts. The delay to shooting caused by Edgar Wright’s departure has forced the star of Insidious and The A-Team to drop out. Reportedly, it has nothing to do with Wright leaving the film, although that rumour will be difficult to shake.
Meanwhile, Gerald and Weisman’s characters simply aren’t a part of the new script crafted by Adam McKay.
Despite Marvel’s insistence that things would proceed as planned, it seemed inevitable that there would be some casting reshuffles. It will be interesting to see how the Ant-Man panel plays to the Comic-Con crowd, and to see who fills Wilson’s shoes.
Ant-Man will be released on 17 July 2015. Find out more about the comics that inspired the film with new digital magazine Uncanny Comics.
